Friendly Cat Family
This feline family (2 kittens, 1 mama) need a special home(s). The mother cat is intensely friendly and craves human affection.
The kittens are 5 weeks old, both male, very socialized, and the mother has already trained them in the fine art of the litter
box. All 3 of them are currently residing in one room in Judy's basement, but she can't keep them there much longer.
The mother cat is a "healthy carrier" of the feline leukemia virus. According to the veterinarian the virus will never make her
sick, but she could spread the virus to other cats. Also according to the vet, the 2 kittens have a 50/50 chance of being
healthy carriers, and a 50/50 chance of being completely immune. (If the virus were going to make them sick, it would have
already done its work.)
As long as these cats have a home where they will be kept indoors and won't be mingling with other unexposed cats, there
should not be any problem. If you know of anyone who would be interested in providing such a home for these lovable
critters, please let
Judy Large know. She can only keep them indoors for
another couple of weeks. (She would keep them all, but she has other cats.)
Ellie
Ellie is a very affectionate and lovable three year old girl. She is extraordinarily smart and always willing to learn new things.
Ellie has beautiful basic obedience including a loose leash heel, a reliable come, sit, sit stay, place, leave it, take it, not now,
drop, and a free release command. Ellie's directional vocabulary includes off, outside, inside, load up, load out, and piddle-piddle
(to go potty). She loves to perform for an audience with her many party tricks including paw, shake, roll over, and balancing a
treat on her nose and flipping it in the air for a catch when commanded to "take it." Ellie is the perfect dog even for a working
owner, for she can be trusted to roam around the house all day by herself. She is very eager to please and loves to cuddle,
especially under the covers! Swimming is her favorite pastime and loves to play chase with a ball.
Ellie gets along with all people, including small children, cats, and horses. She enjoys the company of other dogs on play dates,
but functions best in a house where she is the only dog.
Ellie is a Libra. Her birthday is October 10th. She is about 65lbs, is spayed, and is up to date on all of her shots.
Please contact
Kristy Moeller if you would like to meet this charming girl.
Bishop

Bishop is a Plott hound who is currently living at the shelter and is being trained. He's a
smart boy and loves to go for walks. Please contact
Heather Smith for more information about Bishop.
Buddy
Due to changing circumstances with his family, Buddy needs to find a new home. Buddy is a 7 year-old
neutered male, weighs around 60 lbs, is a German Shepherd mix, wonderful around children and cats,
crate trained, and house broken. Buddy is a sweetheart who loves to hike and run, and he's also content
with chilling out and taking a nap. Please contact the
Delaware Humane Association if you are interested in meeting Buddy.
Cody
Cody is a 1 year old tri-colored beagle. He is male, neutered, housebroken, and crate-trainied.
He lives with a young infant and a cat and is a complete snuggle bug. His shots and vet care are current.
Cody is a great family dog -- losing his home is in no way his fault. His owner is a single mom with two jobs
who is overwhelmed and never home. Please contact
Cindy Kerr for more information about adopting Cody.
Kiya
Kiya is a 10 year old spayed black Labrador mix who is well-behaved and knows many commands. She's
primarily an indoor dog, is housetrained, and loves people. She only chews her toys, is reliable
off-leash, and rides well in cars. Kiya currently lives with a cat and doesn't chase small animals.
For more detailed information about Kiya, please see
her page at Petfinder
or contact
Laura Bergan.
Legend
Legend is a 1.5-2.5 year old Dane/Mastiff mix and is neutered. He is good with other dogs, but does have
some food aggression issues. He also has separation anxiety. He is currently privately kenneled after
having been rescued from a shelter; he came from the shelter very emaciated. Legend needs some training
as he is a big boy, but he is very loving and just wants attention. He appears to get along fine with
the cats living at his current kennel. Please contact
Lynn Kapcsos for information about adopting Legend.
